I grew up in Tate, Ga and have lived in Gilmer and Pickens Counties all my life. I have been licensed and actively selling real estate since 1988.
Having been in this business for 30+ years, there have been many changes in the way we do business. Just think, 30 years ago, we had no 911 addressing, no road signs, no lockboxes, no multiple listing services, no cell phones and no internet. I would sometimes bring my two little girls to work with me. They would ride in the back seat of my car as we looked at property. Once, I was showing a cabin with a small waterfall. Lacey came running into the cabin shouting "Mama, Lindsay slid down the waterfall!" I went outside and there was Lindsay, fully clothed and soaking wet. We had no towels or change of clothes so she had to ride all the way back to the office soaking wet right beside one of my buyers. ( My Buyers were such good sports and seemed to find it amusing.)
Fast forward, thirty-something years later, we now have road signs, 911 addressing, GPS, internet, cell phones, and lockboxes. Those two mischievous little girls are now both teachers in the Gilmer County school system, are married and are Mothers to 6 of our precious Grandchildren. My husband, Steve, and I were married in 2014 and have a total of 9 Grandchildren.
Times change and people change. I cherish the memories of the past and I love making memories with the people in my life now. Some things have not changed. I still love what I do and where I live. I have become very familiar with the North Georgia area and enjoy showing and listing homes and acreage all the way to the North Carolina and Tennessee borders.
